this is my truth, tell me yours (2023)
Although seemingly unrelated, tinnitus and patriarchy become the central themes of this performance, which operates at the intersection of stand-up and a performance lecture. Appearing on stage as a performer for the first time, Žmak explores questions of truth and representation, participation and responsibility, taking us through her own dramaturgical and sexual experiences while asking herself and the audience about the importance and meaning of making art in an age of rampant capitalism.
Dirty Words is a sex education project I initiated in 2019. As part of the project, I regularly organise psychodramatic workshops on female and queer sexuality. In small groups and a safe environment, using psychodrama, we explore our relationship with our bodies, gender and sexual identities, our genitals, sexual desire and the ways in which we communicate our sexual needs and desires.
